Festivak Number 6

PostTue Apr 24, 2012 10:14 am

Bands are good, but check that DK line-up.

At Port Meirion too, so you can walk it off on the beach.

100% in. Who else is?

primal scream aside () that is an excellent line up and may well be the one festival we make it to this year.

Depends what finances are like at the end of the summer, but yes it does look bluddy grate. And like Andy, I've always wanted to go to Portmeirion.

Marky - I think DJ ADHD is playing low-end kazoo loops on the Souped Up Toyota Yaris stage after dark. You'll be reet.

(MASSIVE WINKY - it's an old fuckers line-up and no mistake but then that's me and I'm happy. Venue is choice and I love Erol, New Order, Weatherall and Spiritualized so basically I could serve freebase Prozac to a pig in shit and still come out happier.)

It's worth going just to see baldeli

He doesn't fly so needs to get public transport - buses and trains - from Italy to the arse end of Wales. Great location if he makes it :)

don't get me wrong, there's plenty i'd LOVE to see. i just find i have to be fussier with the picking and choosing now. options are sadly limited.

I think they're bang on with the line up. they've identified their crowd and brought in a LOT of quality sure-fire winners. playing safe? yeah, maybe, but it's got a great chance of selling out and a full crowd is essential for a decent weekend (bc '11 - ARE YOU LISTENING)

Proves you can put on a top notch festival, with a high quality line up and all the trimmings (and from my point of view, slick branding and design) for a ticket price that's well under £140. Makes a mockery of some other festivals on this year... all imo natch.

i know what you're saying but to be fair: this hasn't been put on yet, September's a long way away, and there's still a recession on. anyone know what kind of capacity they're looking at? with a line-up like that i can't see them struggling, they're clearly already attracting attention from their target market so they could be onto a winner. and Wales definitely deserves the focus. :)

it's a bit close to this: http://www.dimensionsfestival.com/ too. a mate is asking me if i want to go out (we share a birthday and could fly out on it, which would be a nice touch). i'm more inclined to do Worldwide in July tbh, but it is tempting. there's a just a huge mish getting to Pula, it seems. :?

[broken record sorry blackie] if i could afford to take weekends off i'd be doing them all. no doubt. :D [/broken record]

That's a fair point Marky, I did get half way through adding a caveat RE the fact it hasn't happened yet, and the proof of the pudding will be in the digesting of record amounts of class a's and dancing till dawn, but got distracted by a puppy.

I don't think this festivals success is a given. It's a great lineup and location but it's in north Wales. That will definitely put off a lot of potential punters.

yeah it's never easy being 2hrs+ away from the nearest patch of England, i'd imagine. they will probably be counting on a fair bit of local support (but people get fook all up there so i'd hope they're jumping at the chance!).
