Pick of the Pops Noughties Special 20-12-09
Posted December 20th, 2009 by MarkyWhen I was pulling tracks together for the various parts of my BPK retrospective, I realised that a lot of the artists featuring had an equally pop-happy side that prompted attention…as well as there just being tons of tracks not as suited to that show which I really wanted to give a nod to. So I signed up to do another POTP, this one focusing purely on my favourite pop tunes from the last 10 years. Makes sense, eh?
Really enjoyed pulling this together and hosting the show, and while some of the songs (Lost Prophets, or The Knife) might not seem the most obvious of choices, they’re pretty symbolic (for me personally) of certain moments in time over the decade…so they get an honourable mention!
